facts to know about your hair fall
You can
lose approximately 50 to 100 hairs in a single day. apparently, a human being has 100,000 to 120,000 hair strands in their head. the number of hair loss occurs may varies from individual to individual. humans make more hair than we loss but, in some point, it may get slow and the hair loss will occur. Some people can go bald in older age (later 50s),
and others in their 20s. The medical name for baldness is called Androgenetic alopecia. Men with genes to
go bald have hair follicles susceptible to a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone,
also called DTH. This hormone, androgen, gives men many manly characteristics
like facial hair, deep voice, and muscle mass growth.
But on the other hand, it harms the hair follicles by shrinking them smaller, which causes the hair to grow thin and brittle. This process of shrinking hair follicles is called miniaturization, and it doesn’t happen overnight; it happens gradually and slowly.
Some doctors say you will notice your hair thinning only after losing 50% of your hair. So, it is essential to know the early sign of balding and try to control it using treatment.
The average kind of hair loss is
called androgenetic alopecia, also known as male-pattern and female-pattern
baldness.
Acute hair loss and chronic hair loss are one of the two types of hair fall.
Acute hair loss is also called a sudden hair
fall. It usually follows events like viral fever, recent co-vid virus, typhoid,
and dengue, after delivery and pregnancy.
Chronic hair loss will go on for months and years, so it will cause hair fall; it occurs due to a lack of nutrients and vitamin deficiency and consuming an excess of medicines (for diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, etc.)
Once we come to know what is the main
cause of hair loss, it’s become easier to fix your hair loss. Look into the
lifestyle you are living. Make sure you are taking a high-protein diet.
Thyroid disorder is also a common cause of hair loss. the thyroid gland regulates the growth and maintenance of the body. any irregularity in the activity of the thyroid can result in major issues. both hypothyroidism (over activity) and hyperthyroidism (diminished activity) can unbalance the maintenance of your body tissue. this also stretches to hair, which may begin to dwindle and fall due to an issue with the thyroid.
Medication is also a cause of hair loss. however, your hair can lose from a different variety of medications, chemotherapy is one of the most popular examples of this problem. treatment for auto immune diseases has resulted in hair fall and medicine and medicine ranging from antidepressants to anticoagulants have caused hair loss.
Rapid weight loss is also a cause of hair fall. losing a lot of weight swiftly such as 15 pounds is an indication of weakness. this may happen due to sickness or some other health problem in our body. however, the weakness can compass your hair as well. you may begin to lose your hair right after shedding a lot of weight in your body. this is majorly due to nutrients being deflected from your scalp to other areas of your body.
Skin infection may also lead to hair fall. it also results in hair thinning and so on. scalp psoriasis is one of the most common skin infections that can cause you to lose your hair. similarly, consequential cases of dandruff are a major result of an infection and can lead hair to thin. in this case, you make sure to consult a doctor.
Ways to prevent your hair from hair fall
Hair fall occurs when
you have poor blood circulation in your scalp. To improve that, we need to rub
your scalp for 3-4times a week and use proper oil for your massage. Do not use
oils with artificial fragrances because it contains alcohol in them. Alcohol is
not suitable for your hair. So, it is better to use coconut oil, mustard oil, or
almond oil. Massage has to be done gently. If it is vigorously done, it can
lead to hair breakage. Massage your hair before you sleep and wash it in the
morning. Another way to increase your blood circulation is through your
exercise. Any exercise done for 15-20 minutes can increase your blood
circulation drastically. Especially for women, who are all suffering from
thyroid or other kinds of hormonal imbalances, exercise is highly recommended.
Another major source of hair loss
is the rise in the level of dihydrotestosterone. Almost 90% of hair fall in men
is due to the hormone dihydrotestosterone, commonly known as DHT. This hormone
is formed from testosterone through a biochemical reaction; it also causes the
shortening of the life span of hair follicles. Then blows the hair follicles,
and eventually, it falls down slowly. So, to reduce the DHT levels in our bodies,
we should include DTH stalling foods. Some of the DHT stalling foods are
Fenugreek seeds, almonds, bananas, carrots, mushrooms, etc.
Poor nutrition is the primary
reason men’s and women’s hair starts to thin out very early. If the body is
devoid of nutrients for a very long time, one thing it can afford is to lose
hair. The body thinks it can survive without a single hair on the head. So, it
stops making hair and takes care of the other vital organs.
These days, fast
food, fat diets, cola, artificial sweeteners, artificial juices, processed
foods, etc., are a part of every teenager’s diet. So, teenagers should avoid
these foods in their daily life as much as possible. Less consumption of these
foods will lead the hair to grow well.
Every hair strand
is made up of protein. So, one should definitely have their daily dose of
protein. Foods like kidney beans, chickpeas, black chana, lentils, paneer,
chicken, and fish are rich in protein foods and should be part of your daily
life. Also, healthy fats are essential for hair health. Almonds, cashews,
peanuts, walnuts, and flaxseeds are all excellent sources of healthy fats.
There are
generally two types of vitamins, water soluble and fat soluble. Vitamins A, D,
E, and K are all fat soluble. The B vitamins -- folate, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic
acid, biotin, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12 -- and vitamin C are water
soluble. If you remove fat from your diet, your body will become
deficient in these vitamins. Make sure that healthy fats are a part of your
diet. Also, B vitamins are essential for hair health. Next, iron and vitamin C
are necessary to stop hair loss. Vitamin c is required to absorb iron in the body.
If you take iron but don’t consume vitamin c, it will not be interested. All green
leaf vegetables, like spinach and cauliflower, are excellent sources of iron.
And one of the
best herds of vitamin c available to us is Amla or Indian gooseberry. Other
sources of vitamin c are oranges, lemon, capsicum, etc., so if you consume a
well balanced diet, you will see that you will stop losing your hair.
